Information on battery disposal
In connection with the sale of batteries or the supply of devices containing batteries, we are required to point out the following:
Batteries must not be disposed of with household waste.
You can return waste batteries that we stock or have stocked as new batteries either to us at your own expense or free of charge to our shipping warehouse (shipping address). Alternatively, you can drop off the batteries at local collection points.
As an end user, you are legally obliged to return used batteries so that they can be recycled or disposed of properly.
Waste batteries may contain pollutants that could damage the environment or your health if stored or disposed of improperly. However, batteries also contain important raw materials such as iron, zinc, manganese, or nickel and can be recycled.
The symbols depicted on the batteries have the following meaning:
The crossed-out wheelie bin symbol means that the battery must not be disposed of with household waste.
For batteries that contain a certain mass of lead, cadmium, or mercury, the following abbreviations below the crossed-out wheelie bin symbol indicate the respective pollutants:
Pb = battery contains more than 0.004 percent lead by mass
Cd = battery contains more than 0.002 percent cadmium by mass
Hg = battery contains more than 0.0005 percent mercury by mass
Cd = battery contains more than 0.002 percent cadmium by mass
Hg = battery contains more than 0.0005 percent mercury by mass
