Use a baking mat to protect yourself from grease residue. These mats are rectangular in shape and come with a non-stick coating so you don't have to use oil or butter.
With a baking mat, no greasy residue will drip into your kamado or shichirin and you will quickly finish cleaning.
These baking mats are therefore also ideal for the rectangular Shichirin. The mats are made of fiberglass and can withstand high temperatures without losing their function.
After use, you can simply clean the baking mats with a cloth. You can also wash the mats or put them in the dishwasher.
