The Negroamaro from Giustini delights the viewer with a radiant, yet not too dark, garnet red, delicate aromas of cherries, wild berries, cassis, and plums. But subtle hints of delicate tobacco and spices also make this wine remarkable. Upon closer inspection, subtle nuances of fig and light balsamic notes emerge.
On the palate, one thing is primarily evident: a tidy and clearly structured arrangement of flavors. Less wild and stormy than many of its southern Italian brothers and sisters, it comes to the forefront with a broad chest but still without being overconfident.
The aromas form a delicate construct of cherries, figs, plums, and dried fruits. This strong yet soft tannin structure is complemented by hints of leather, tobacco, and spices.
The finish is broad and lingering, with a well-balanced acidity and harmonious fruitiness. One could almost imagine this elegant symphony of an Italian red wine resembling a walk in the woods on a warm, but late, autumn day!
