Whether as jam or compote, in dumplings or as a schnapps specialty - their characteristic flowery aroma is simply wonderful. For the Prinz Alte Marille, Prinz only use the best, fully ripe and juicy-sweet fruits.

Depending on the temperature and weather, the first apricots begin to ripen towards the end of June and their color gradually changes from green to a honey-yellow, slightly reddish hue. In July, the main harvest time begins for the fruit growers, whose growing areas are around the foothills of the Alps. They sort the delivered fruit at their orchard. They are checked both optically and sensorially.
THE APRICOT SCHNAPPS FROM THE WOODEN BARREL UNIQUE PRODUCTION PROCESS
Pitted, destemmed and mashed, fermentation lasts about 18 days. Then the mash is ready to be distilled. A fruity, unmistakably aromatic distillate is created in the double firing process, which is then stored in fine-pored earthenware for several years. There it can unfold under optimal conditions before it goes into the wooden barrel for a tasteful finish. Then Prinz refine the mild schnapps with natural fruit extracts - the final touch before the tasting.
A SCHNATCH FOR ALL THE SENSES
Due to the wooden barrel storage, the old apricot captivates with its beautiful golden yellow color. In the nose, the apricot specialty provides a true fragrance experience. Intensely fruity with the varietal, slightly floral notes. The characteristically full-bodied tones then unfold on the palate with a subtle sweetness and oak barrel note. The mild and yet wonderfully fruity taste is retained in the finish. A special kind of schnapps experience - of course in the traditional swing-top bottle. Let yourself be enchanted by the old apricot from the wooden barrel. Be sure to try other old varieties such as the Old Williams Christmas Pear or the Old Hazelnut!
Drinking recommendation: Enjoy the Alte Marille with friends or alone, as a digestif or in between. The fine fruit aromas unfold best in the schnapps goblet with a stem at a temperature of between 17 and 21 °C.
