The Primitivo from Ruota Libera shines through the glass wall in a dark ruby when poured.
The nose immediately reveals aromas of ripe black cherries and plums, complemented by red currants and blueberries. Nuances of dried fruit, a subtle vegetative note, and a hint of pipe smoke also emerge. Further aromas of blackberries, raspberries, and caramel are also present.
On the palate, the impression of ripe black cherries and plums is sustained, supported by berry aromas, cassis, and a delicate spice. The tannin structure is robust and powerful, surrounded by a well-integrated, medium-strong acidity. Despite its opulent appearance, this Primitivo nevertheless displays a lean and not overly voluminous character. The finish is medium-long.
